==> SOURCE SYSTEM :

– Umount the vg that want to export in the source system
umount /dev/vg27/lvol1
umount /dev/vg28/lvol1
umount /dev/vg29/lvol1
– Deactivate Each volume that want to export. In this case I create mapfile in directory /tmp/fahmi
#vgchange -a n /dev/vg27
#vgchange -a n /dev/vg28
#vgchange -a n /dev/vg29
# Recommended By Pak Jay, karena kalo di vgexport tanpa -p bisa hilang vg yang diexport di lvmtabnya.

– Export Volume Group to Map file
vgexport -p -v -s -m vg27.map /dev/vg27
vgexport -p -v -s -m vg28.map /dev/vg28
vgexport -p -v -s -m vg29.map /dev/vg29

– Copy Map file to target, using rcp or ftp.
rcp /tmp/fahmi/vg27.map TBORAP3X:/tmp/fahmi/vg27.map
rcp /tmp/fahmi/vg28.map TBORAP3X:/tmp/fahmi/vg28.map
rcp /tmp/fahmi/vg29.map TBORAP3X:/tmp/fahmi/vg29.map

– Activate Each Volume. Don’t Forget this!
vgchange -a y /dev/vg27
vgchange -a y /dev/vg28
vgchange -a y /dev/vg29

– Jangan di MOUNTING dulu jika ingin ditest di target terlebih dahulu

#mount /dev/vg27/lvol1 /prod/trans2w/db04    #
#mount /dev/vg28/lvol1 /prod/mfg2w/db01      #
#mount /dev/vg29/lvol1 /prod/mfg2w/db02      #
##############################################

 

==>TARGET SYSTEM

– Create Directory with name as same as vg name in the directory “/dev”
mkdir /dev/vg27 /dev/vg28 /dev/vg29

– Make directory file. Please Remember, the code that you see below is the HEXA format from the vg name
– eg. the HEXA format of 27 = 1B, 28 = 1C, 29 = 1E
mknod /dev/vg27/group c 64 0x1B0000
mknod /dev/vg28/group c 64 0x1C0000
mknod /dev/vg29/group c 64 0x1D0000

– Make sure the file is created
ll /dev/vg27
crw-rw-r–   1 root       sys         64 0x1b0000 Jul 20 13:15 group

– Import the mapfile that we put from the source system in /tmp/fahmi
vgimport -s -v -m vg27.map /dev/vg27
vgimport -s -v -m vg28.map /dev/vg28
vgimport -s -v -m vg29.map /dev/vg29

– Activate Each Volume. Don’t Forget this!
vgchange -a y /dev/vg27
vgchange -a y /dev/vg28
vgchange -a y /dev/vg29

– Check if import is success
strings /etc/lvmtab

–create directory for mount point in the TARGET system with name as same as SOURCE system
mkdir /prod/trans2w/db04
mkdir /prod/mfg2w/db01
mkdir /prod/mfg2w/db02

– You can test to MOUNT it in the source system, if oke then you have done it successfully
mount /dev/vg27/lvol1 /prod/trans2w/db04
mount /dev/vg28/lvol1 /prod/mfg2w/db01
mount /dev/vg29/lvol1 /prod/mfg2w/db02
